OT security — maturity assessment and consultancy
One practice, two delivery modes. We diagnose it. We support it. And we leave behind artifacts that hold up in front of an audit, a board and a regulator.
What organizations typically do not know about their own OT environment
- Incomplete asset inventory across Purdue levels 0–3, particularly legacy PLCs and field devices.
- Flat networks where an event in engineering can reach operations with no technical barrier.
- Remote access for integrators and vendors left permanently enabled with no traceability.
- Firmware years out of date, and maintenance windows that never line up with the patch cycle.
- Historians, HMIs and engineering sharing the same domain as the corporate network.
Our approach
The assessment is anchored in IEC 62443, the international standards series for the security of industrial automation and control systems.
We start from the zones and conduits model: what talks to what, through which path, and what target security level each zone warrants given what it protects. That map is what lets us measure the distance between the level you need and the level you reach today.
The plant team lives in that environment every day and knows constraints that appear on no diagram: the shutdown window that never lines up, the integrator who needs access on Tuesday, the PLC nobody wants to touch. So initiatives get discussed with the people who will run them, because they are the ones who have to keep them alive once the project ends.
Two delivery modes
Maturity assessment
A point-in-time engagement with defined deliverables: current-state survey, gap analysis, prioritized roadmap and executive briefing.
- Current-state report with technical evidence
- Gap analysis against the target maturity
- Prioritized roadmap with a multi-year horizon
- Executive briefing for sponsor and board
Consultancy / ongoing support
Continuous or per-project support to execute the roadmap: segmentation design, policy definition, support during vendor RFPs and audit preparation.
- Technical design for roadmap initiatives
- Functional specification for tenders
- Support during third-party implementations
- Preparation for internal or external audit
Let's talk about scope
Every OT environment is different. The first conversation is to understand the environment and propose a realistic mode, not to sell.
